Get involved and unearth metropolitan and regional talents in the satellite program Design for Everyone, or come and listen as some of the world’s most esteemed designers share their knowledge and insight at the business of design conference Design Capital.
The State of Design will cover many cross-disciplinary design agendas relating to the profession of design and the marketplace it provides to.
Capitalising on the depth and scope of design talent available, Victoria’s design festival has something for everyone: design novices, professionals and even the uninitiated. Continue…

On Wednesday September 17th Seattle Arts and Lectures kicked off its 2008-2009 season with a lecture on humor by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Russo. Humor- it seemed an odd topic to me mainly because most of the aspects I remembered about Russo’s novel Empire Falls were dark in nature. The book explored characters dealing with abuse, vengeance, and ... continue -
Quality gets Kinky

In the age of Ikea, Walmart, and Super everything, quality has been relegated to the era of walking uphill both ways in the snow just to get to school. Most of the furniture that populates the living rooms of the western world has a shorter lifespan than our grandparents clothing. Things are meant to be used and then thrown out ... continue -
