The thing about style is that it never comes back the same. You take a part of “back then” and mix it with something new. It’s not gonna be just like you remembered it…and it shouldn’t. Notice it said “hippie fashion ’08″ ….so it’s the 08 rendition/version of something from the past.

I came from the hippie days….we wore long flowing shirts…/ slip tops w/ out bras…. made most of our own clothes/or traded…..no designer stuff…..just your “down to the basics” was the style…..of coarse….bellbottoms….you sewed your own flowers/designs on them!……The Modern Hippie in Portland, Oregon

I completely agree with you guys on this one. Hippies weren’t in it for the style, it was a cultural revolution. Now we have these spoiled little rich teenagers running aound with shoelaces tied around their heads who couldn’t tell Jerry Garcia from a hole in the wall. It makes me rather depressed.

um…. i dont know much about the whole makeup thing but from what i know hippies dont wear makeup. so you might want to check on that. and the shoes its not just sandals its sneakers too. a pair of converse might do. and you didnt mention once about the peace signs.

if that’s hippie style than i’b batman… makeup?? and fancy dresses .. and complicated hair styles?? dudes.. hippie is about freedom.. and beeing a hippie comes from inside.. there is a certain way of dressing because they were feeling comfortable in different type of chlotes .. light materials.. but no makeup .. this is shit..
