Art NewsRadiohead - In Rainbows Released
Happy Radiohead release day everyone. Their seventh studio album entitled “In Rainbows” dropped today and it’s only available to download online. Here’s the hook though.. You set your own price! Will you buy the album? Do you buy the idea?

Personally I’ve got to admire this idea. I’ve never been a huge fan of Radiohead myself, but you gotta respect a move like this. Some people though I’m sure may be disheartened without a disc in their hand. Not being able to flip through the sleeve, check the artwork, maybe read a couple blurbs about the band. Because I would have to agree you don’t get the same sense of ownership or connection with downloading some MP3’s that you do with making the trek to the record store and putting your hands on the merchandise. If that’s your feelings though you can always try to wait a couple months until a label picks the album up. There is currently a bidding war going on it seems for the rights. Then you can go and buy the actual CD. In the meantime there is a track by track preview of Rainbows over at RollingStone.
You can order Radiohead’s ‘In Rainbows’ here. If you’ve been denying your love for Radiohead recently, here’s your chance to show you didn’t mean it.
Here’s a video of the band composing the album over the past ten days.

I bought it for $0, of course. I don’t think too many people will pay. This is a pretty cool move for radiohead (nice website as well). Thanks for the heads up.
