Additionally, here are few of my favorite blogs utilizing the theme. Some great customization jobs.

Plugins

ArtCulture.com, along with the Magazine News theme, utilize multiple plugins. These plugins are not mandatory for the theme to work, however you may run into an error without them. Any of these errors of course can easily be fixed, and with the free support given on this theme, just leave a comment here and you will be responded to immediately.

Featured Article

This theme allows bloggers to easily highlight an article at any time. Just create a category called ‘featured’ and put the posts that you want featured in there. Make sure the category id is right in the header.php file and everything should work automatically. More specific instructions are included within the theme documentation.

Purchase

All proceeds from this theme will go right back into ArtCulture.com. Hiring more writers, gaining more unique content, and keeping the publication alive.

Standard Package - Single-use License ($49)

This package is intended for bloggers intending to only use this theme on one site, and not redistribute it in any way. The package will include all theme files and plugins used. The credit link is not required to stay in tact, however some credit link must be given on the website.

Developers Package - Multiple License ($129)

This package is for bloggers intending to use this theme on multiple websites. The package will include all theme files and plugins used. The credit link is not required to stay in tact, nor are you required to link anywhere to the theme or to ArtCulture.

Both packages will receive unlimited support via this page. To keep a wealth of information on the theme, all support issues will be posted publicly here, in hopes of helping future users. It may be organized in the form of a FAQ in the future.

  1. Hi, I’ve just buyed the template, but I didn’t receive anything… do you send me the template by email?
    Best regards from Spain.

  2. Hi David, I sent it off just a little bit ago, your order just came in this morning so it took a couple hours. Hope you are happy with the theme, and thank you very much for the purchase :)

  3. Hi Brad, I’ve the theme already online… just a little problem: it seems in the home page it doesn’t align propertly the posts under the last one, and it doesn’t appears very well… do you know what could be the problem?

    Best regards from Spain.

  4. Can I pay with Paypal?

  5. Looks awesome - am seriously considering getting it for my site….

    2 questions

1: Are updates to this theme available for free once I buy a copy?
    2. Are all the footers widget ready as well? or is it just the sidebars? eg. Can I switch the categories section and great sites sections around?

  6. - and yes if I buy I’d like to pay with Paypal too pls?

  7. Can i modify the theme in the single license? I want to adpot the visual style to match my brand. Of course just on one blog.

  8. FriedBeef:
    1) Yes, forever
    2) Just the sidebars are widget ready, however the footer can easily become widget ready through a few simple modifications of the footer.php file

And yes, per your other question, paypal is fine. Anyone can use numethod@gmail.com for the paypal, and just specify in the comments that it is for the artculture theme.

  9. Christopher:
    Yes that’s fine :)

  10. Thanks for the response - If I buy the theme can you help me get the footer widget ready as well please?

  11. Friedbeef: Sure, I could help with that as early as tomorrow.

  12. So. Now i have placed the order!

  13. How do you display the image in the featured post? I have an image uploaded to the i/featured/ folder, but am failing to see how I should get it to display correctly. Using img tags just inserts as a normal image and screws the post title alignment.

  14. Ollie:

My apologies to you and anyone else experiencing this issue. I neglected to include an important step in the documentation of the theme.

When creating or editing a post to be featured, you will need to add a custom value. Just scroll down the edit post page a bit, and click the + on the custom values bar. Create a new custom value with the Key ‘Image’ and the value of whateveryourimagenameis.jpeg that you put in the featured folder.

If your post still does not show up, make sure you read step 5 in the documentation, and have defined your category number to read featured posts in the header.php file.

  15. Thanks Brad, I figured it had something to do with Custom Fields. I appreciate your help.

  16. Great premium theme, Brad - Thanks!
    Question..
I’m having a time trying to get my pages (about, archives, contact, etc.,) to work. I keep getting a file not found.

I installed in a sub-directory, is that why?

    Any advice?

  17. That’s most likely due to your permalink setup under the options menu in your /wp-admin/. Once you have setup and understand your permalinks, you may want to check the header.php file in the presentation area of wp-admin, and make sure the link locations are correct. Also make sure you’ve added the pages under “write” in wp-admin. You can check if they exist and there location by clicking the Manage tab.

  18. Before I consider buying, a few questions:

Does this theme work with WPMU?

Is there a list of features anywhere?

How configurable is it? Are you available to configure it?

How does support work? Is it only you? Is there a community support network?

  19. Makem:
Not sure what WPMU is, soooo probably not :)

The list of features is just whatever features wordpress has. You can see the theme here at artculture.com, and see what it looks like or is capable of.

It is as configurable as any wordpress theme. You just need to have a basic understanding of CSS or HTML to actually modify the design.

Support is just me, yes. Not a team behind this one ;) But I do what I can for people. Bug fixes and updates are free to everyone.

  20. I just purchased this theme and i’m excited to get started on it. Are you emailing me the download for it and when?

  21. WPMU is Wordpress Multi User - http://mu.wordpress.org

  22. It’s the first time for me to use the Share this plugin so I’m not familiar with how to use it. Anyways, how do I make it open a small window like the one here? Coz when I tried it on mine, the link brought me to a different page. Thanks!

  23. Brad,

Just an FYI: I just sent you payment for this theme via PayPal.

    Thanks.

    Hello Brad,
I will undoubtedly buy your theme in the next few days, but I’ve got a little question before : is the header easily customizable ? ’cause I’d like to put this one (http://myenglishcoach.fr/design.png) but I’m not really good at coding stuff ….
    Best regards,
    Quentin Hugot

  25. Cordedrue77:
Which header? The design of that image is very different, to make it look anything like that would definitely require some work with the html/css.

    JP:
I believe that’s a setting in the plugin, not positive though. Link would definitely be helpful in debugging ;)

  26. Hi Brad,
Thanks again for the great template. How difficult would it be to make the “Featured Article” section static instead of dynamic, but with the same formatting? Could you point me in the right direction?

    Thanks.

  27. Never mind Brad, I think I’m answering my own question here. I’ll post an update when successful.

    Thanks.

  28. Thanks Brad but I removed the ShareThis plugin and instead used the AddThis widget.

Btw, the theme is up and running on my blog now. :)

Never Mind I’ll find a way to do it ;) I’ve just purchased the theme and I’m excited to get started on it. Are you emailing me the download for it and when ? (same question as Curtis)

  30. hi, I just sent you payment through PayPal. Thank you.

  31. Thanks for the awesome theme Brad, one quick question, what is the PHP code to make the left section which displays some recent posts like the one found here: http://www.matblogg.se/ ?

Their section only displays 4 posts in the squares as opposed to the default 9/10.

    Thanks in advance =D

  32. Sam:

That is just a wordpress option. In your wp-admin go to Options > Reading and under blog pages select how many max posts to display.

  33. That should have been obvious, and now I feel stupid. Cheers Brad!

  34. I need some help regarding the very slow sidebar action. You’ll notice even on this blog that in the far right sidebar when you pass over links the reaction speed is crazy slow and choppy.

But near the footer passing over those links are fine, in fact beautiful.

Question: how do I nix the sloooow effects in my right side bars? I’d rather have fast response over fun effects. Please help.

  35. J.R.
I’m not sure, I don’t experience any sort of lag on either my main computer or laptop, using different browsers. Haven’t had anyone else report on this issue either. You could always rework the css to not include div rollovers if that’s the problem you’re experiencing.

  36. I’m using the Sideblog plugin which I use to keep unrelated posts separate from my main posts. It worked with my previous theme but since the index page uses a custom query to call the latest post, all posts gets published there and not in my sideblog. Is there a way I can exclude certain categories from being displayed in the index page? Thanks!

  37. Jaypee
Good question, I’ve never tried doing that myself. It looks like this page has the answer, the last post also links to a workaround. PerisablePress also seems to have some useful information.

  38. Thanks Brad! Btw, I have another question. This time it’s about the post excerpts below the latest post. The default shows the previous posts in 2 columns, right? In my case, I want it to be just one post per row with the same excerpt format?

  39. Jaypee:
That would require editing the Main index template a bit. I can login and probably figure it out pretty quick for you if you would like I have the time. I can’t just tell you a certain snippet to change though without investigating.

  40. Hi Brad! Can I buy this theme using paypal? :)

  41. Nice, will add to my themes gallery

  42. Hi Matt,
As you know, I think I was one of the first buyers of your theme. I’d like to know if it’s WP 2.5 compatible… did you test it?
    Best regards,
    David

  43. David,

Yes, it should work. The demo site is running 2.5 — If you have any problems try e-mailing the address listed at the bottom right of http://wordpressthemesmarket.com — There is a tech support engineer that has been hired by the new owner of WTM that can help most likely. If you run into any major issues forward over your blog info to me personally and I’ll see what I can do :)

  44. Thanks for your answer, Matt, and for your offering :) I’d try to upgrade the WP and let’s see how your theme works. Let me tell you that I did some changes in the colours of the theme, and I have some problems in the footer area with explorer… I didn’t contact you then, but: can I tell it to that tech people for a kind of support of the theme?

  45. Can i get the current theme of artculture.com ? Let me know.
